New 2-Week Challenge! FB Fully Conditioned – Strength and Cardio Combo Training
Good morning FB Family!
Welcome to Day 1 of our latest 2-week challenge, FB Fully Conditioned! Each workout contains a combination of strength and cardio training to help you improve your overall endurance and metabolic capacity for challenging fitness goals as well as boost your functional fitness for tasks of daily living.
We have a mix of new content to shake things up a bit and pre-released content to capitalize on the amazing workouts that are already a part of our extensive library of content. You’ll notice that each workout contains either an EMOM (every minute on the minute) or AMRAP (as many rounds/reps as possible) format. Why? These formats promote self-pacing, benchmarking, and lend themselves to a range of modifications/progressions to fit your current training needs, goals, and preferences.
In today’s Day 1 workout, we work through three bodyweight EMOMs for a test of total body cardiovascular and muscular endurance:
Remember with the EMOM format, the quicker you finish your reps (with safe form!), the sooner you can rest. This format of training teaches your body to accommodate increasingly challenging movement patterns with a sense of urgency and precision.
If you like the format and focus of today’s workout, I also created a shorter “companion” FREE workout: Quick Bodyweight Total Body Conditioning EMOMs. We work through one less EMOM circuit than the parent workout, but the intensity is still there!
Here’s a quick peek at the workout focuses/formats in Week #1:
Day 1: Total Body EMOMs – Bodyweight [Level 3] – NEW!
Day 2: Total Body AMRAPs – Weighted [Level 3]
Day 3: Total Body AMRAPs – Bodyweight [Level 4]
Day 4: Low Impact Active Recovery [Level 3]
Day 5: Total Body EMOM’s – Weighted [Level 4] – NEW!
I hope you enjoy this workout as much as I enjoyed both creating and filming it! Remember that Level 3 workouts can have a wide range of intensities depending on the exerciser so decrease or increase your efforts to reflect your training needs of the day.
