Today was our volunteering day, the first of 2026, on Brownsea Island (in the South of the UK). We worked in an area where we don’t normally work. It was amazingly beautiful. Photo above shows a bomb crater from when the Germans dropped a bomb in World War II. The then uninhabited island was used as a decoy for the German bombers to save the mainland town of Poole. The photo shows how nature took over again: it’s now a haven for dragonflies!!! The water is very deep there, you couldn’t go in it. But wow, the beauty of it!!
What with having to bend over to pick up and drag brash to a trailer and lifting and putting heavy (as in: some VERY heavy) logs on another trailer with 17.000 steps I consider this a #totalbodyworkout✅. Down below in the comments some more beauty. Feeling very blessed to be able to consider that my “workplace”!!
