The best part of my holiday was video conferencing with kids who are faraway. Thank goodness for technology.
The hardest part of the holiday was talking to my dad in a care facility who didn’t want to talk to me because he was chatting with the ladies. It is very tempting to wash my hands of him as my siblings have done. Really the man paid us no attention when we were growing up and then when my mom died, it was negative attention at best and violent attention at worst, and when he remarried, he put stepchildren before his kids. Any contact I had with him was because I initiated it. Ahh, the family conflict and painful emotions of holidays.
In other news, it is warm and dry. There was lots of good food. Rebounding and short UB substitute workout yesterday.
