Happy Wednesday, Blendies! I'd like to start off today by recognizing and being thankful for the "ordinary." You know, those every day moments that are boring and mundane, but really make up the bulk of our lives. Doing dishes yet *again.* Running errands. Feeling the warm sun or biting wind on your face when you go to get the mail. Pulling warm clothes from the dryer (and leaving them on the couch or shoving them into drawers...or folding them!).
***Trigger warning: cancer.***
I have a friend who, just three weeks ago, thought her husband had acid reflux and maybe a gallstone. Turns out he has esophageal cancer that has metastasized to his stomach. I was running errands yesterday, thinking I'd rather be walking, or reading, or doing anything else, but then I thought what my friend wouldn't give to run boring old errands with her husband, or to have him be able to do them. It just put things into perspective and made me thankful for the ordinary moments!
****moving on****
How will you care for that fantastic body of yours today? Ya'll, my doctor has me on 3x the normal amount of laxatives. I honestly don't see me doing too much until this whole ordeal is over! So let me get a vicarious thrill: tell me about how you are a sweaty mess, or are enjoying a nice stretch!
And how will you nourish your body today? I plan on roasting a chicken, as well as some root veggies. I was going to make some bread, but I don't want to. We'll go low carb! What are you having?
Okay folks, I'm off to do whatever it is I do. I hope your day is filled with ordinary things!
Pic: the picture does NOT do it justice! The mountains were watermelon colored at sunset the other day. The name of this range is the Sandias, which is Spanish for watermelon.
Daily Check-in ANG: Wednesday, December 10th
