Hello FB Family! Let us welcome the newest Fitness Blender member, Wendy!
I hope you’re all staying warm, healthy, and finding pockets of joy as we head into the holiday season.
With celebrations, work, travel, school events, family gatherings, late nights, and all the cooking and cleaning… routines naturally shift. I know mine has (especially with a brand new furry friend!). It feels like I’m always juggling something between work, family, and everything in between. This time of year can be so full of joy, but also a lot to carry. I recently got over the flu, followed by a wicked sinus infection and have been out of my routine for about 3 weeks. Who knew sinus infections can knock you out that bad? Not me!
What I keep reminding myself is that taking care of our health doesn’t have to mean sticking perfectly to a plan. It can simply mean continuing to show up for ourselves in small, realistic ways. Movement is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves. Not to “earn” food or balance out festivities, but because it supports our energy, mood, strength, and stress levels. Even a little bit can shift how we feel.
So during the holidays, I hold onto my goals while giving myself some grace. This season is busy and temporary. Instead of stressing about a missed workout, I look for ways to adjust. Sometimes that’s a shorter session. Sometimes it’s a walk after dinner. And sometimes it’s sprinting around the house after a very excited puppy.
It all counts. ❤️
✨ A few kind reminders for this season:
Short sessions count and you won’t lose your progress if you scale down a bit
Flexibility shows strength and commitment, not the opposite
Rest truly is productive and joy matters just as much as training
Success does not have to be all or nothing
Movement should feel supportive and nourishing, not forced
This time of year, movement can look different:
☃️ A walk outside to enjoy holiday lights
🎵 Dancing to music while you clean or cook
🧘 A quick stretch before bed or when you wake up
🎁 A nature hike or active “date” with a friend or family member
🔥 A short strength or core session while dinner is in the oven
(And stacking a few small bursts of movement throughout the day adds up)
Whatever movement looks like for you right now, it’s enough! Every win is still a win.
As we wrap up the year, let’s focus on how movement helps us feel grounded, capable, and connected to our bodies. Let’s support one another through the busy moments and celebrate every bit of effort. We’re in this together.
I’d love to hear your favorite way to sneak in movement this month. Share below. You never know who you’ll inspire!
