ANG Weekend Ghost-ing: Saturday, November 29th

Hello ANG Buddies!

Weekend started, I have time, hopefully, you do too, so let’s mingle. 🤗

Our weather has mood swings worse than mine. The other day we had our very 1st snow, then almost 20 degrees, now rainy again. But this morning on my walk, the fog rolled in, and it was pure magic. ✨ Like nature decided to cosplay as a mystery novel.

Fall is my favorite season with all of its colors and moods. So my entertainment lineup is indoors: a good book and the cartoon Zootopia 2.0 🦊🐰. Because sometimes you need a reminder that even animated animals have career struggles, snack cravings, and questionable bosses.

Today’s workout plan: absolutely nothing. My dumbbells are dumb bored, my sneakers are sulking in the corner, and outside at this moment it’s raining cats, dogs, and maybe a confused giraffe. ☔But hey, recovery is part of the program, right? Even superheroes take a day off, except mine involves sweatpants and snacks. 🦸‍♂️🍿

Wanna talk food? With me? My golden rule: if it’s in the fridge and doesn’t bite back, it goes on a plate. No hunting, no gathering, just opening the door and hoping something edible winks at me. 😄

Speaking of food, back when I used to hit the gym with my buddy 3x per week, we had this hilarious ritual. For whatever reason, after every workout we had to eat. And wouldn’t you know it, literally next door was a sandwich place. 🥪 Those sandwiches were so good they deserved their own fan club (which they actually have, since they’re famous). The staff were super friendly too, opening doors for every customer… or so we thought. Until one day we realized they were opening doors just for us, because they knew we’d walk in. Cue the collective omg, this is wrong. 😂

So we made a pact: if one of us says “veto”, we skip the sandwiches and cook instead. Same rule applied to the gym itself, though we rarely used veto there, didn’t want to derail the other one’s progress. Those guys were still opening doors for us for quite some time… ha ha… 😄

Still, after any workout I’m huuuungry. And if I go in on an empty stomach, then I’m hangry (yes, it’s real, science backs me up, me thinks). So now I usually have a smoothie ready, and sip it quickly once the #workoutcomplete is on my screen. Hungry me becomes happy me in about three gulps.

Tomorrow kicks off the first day of Christmas time 🎄✨. What’s your prep routine? Do you decorate early or wait until the last minute? I’m starting with one Christmas movie per day, basically a cinematic advent calendar. 🍿🎬

Also, I’m committing to zero-ish sugar until Christmas Eve. Goodbye cookies, hello carrots. 🥕 Fun fact: Did you know that carrots were originally purple, not orange? Imagine a purple carrot cake, talk about a royal dessert.💜 And speaking of purple, there’s a Filipino dessert made from not-carrots, and is so vibrant it looks like food coloring. Basically, a dessert that doubles as art.
