HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group November 3rd πŸŒƒπŸ₯§πŸ§₯πŸ§£πŸ§€πŸƒπŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

Hello everyone, welcome to the first Monday of November. We've just had the fall time change, which makes for long evenings. πŸŒƒ Time to break out the light-colored backpack and the reflective bands so the cars can see me when I walk home from work tonight. I tend to see November as the bare, stark month between losing the leaves and gaining snow cover, but I'm trying to reframe this more into "cozy" and "hygge" (hence today's image) ... will let you know if it works! The coziest thing I've done lately is to eat loads of winter squash, so abundant at this time of year. Pumpkin chocolate cake a few weeks ago was followed by pumpkin (well, butternut squash) pie, and I've already roasted the next squash in preparation for pumpkin spice muffins this week. Squash have also featured in soup, and roasted for supper with a little pesto. Have you been incorporating this brilliant seasonal food in your cooking? Or do you have other delights lurking in your cupboards and countertops? Of course, Lynna will just be starting to get fresh spring produce, and *not* squashes :D

Other than baking, I've been bundling up πŸ§₯🧣🧀. It's been colder, of course, but still mild. I was outside all weekend preparing the garden and the yard for the cold season. Sad to think all the gorgeous brilliant leaves are on their way out, but they did put on a good show this year!πŸƒπŸ

Today I'll be doing Day 25 of Shift, a nice total-body stretching workout with Brian. It suits me perfectly to start my workweek with some good stretches, but rescheduling around my gardening weekends makes it harder for me to get the feel of the 10-to-11-day "microcycles" in this program. As long as it's working, I'll go with the flow. How are your workout cycles going? Winding one up? Getting started? Steady state? State of survival?

Well, I'd better get going, these stretches aren't going to do themselves after all. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈWishing you all a good start to the week!
