HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group September 29th πππ
It's already nearly the last day of my favorite month. September has been simply gorgeous, yet again. Not too hot, not too cool, loads of fresh vegetables from the garden. The last eggplants from the garden this year went into a sheet-pan version of ratatouille, and I just made it without any kind of onions. Good cozy food, very good as a side with some chicken and couscous, and I think it will be a nice sandwich filler with hummous this week. With the cooler nights, the warm-weather vegetables like tomatoes will stop producing soon, but there's still plenty of kale, plenty of herbs, and I've got two adorable butternut squashes ripening on the vine. And the stores have big displays of pumpkins to let us know it's fall!
(I haven't seen the pumpkins from the meme yet π€£π€£. What's your take on candy corn? Love, hate, indifferent? They were my mom's favorite, but I found them an acquired taste.)
As for workouts, I plan to try Shift. The first day was tough on my back, will see how the next ones go. I almost didn't want to add a program, because I've really been enjoying all the new choices while I spent time freestyling these last few months. So if the program isn't a good fit, I'll be fine to go back into discovery mode. So, in honor of discovery mode, today's thought is βAnyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.β (Albert Einstein) What I like about this quote is the idea that it's okay to stumble a bit on new things, and better to challenge yourself than to limit your range.
So, what are you up to this week? Anything new on the horizon?
