Good Saturday morning! We are two days away from the official start of the fall season, but it sure feels like fall here, as it is only 9°C/48°F this morning, and it will be even colder tomorrow. It is perfect walking weather and I plan to take advantage of it.
David is really struggling with seasonal allergies, so he’ll likely skip out on this walk. He’s barely sleeping. Even extra strength antihistamines are not helping. I want to stop at a pharmacy today and ask the pharmacist for advice. I was reading that some nasal sprays can help. If you’ve dealt with seasonal allergies, what have you done to relieve symptoms? They’re predicting rain at the end of the day Monday, that should help.
I’ll offer to go grocery shopping by myself this morning, so he can rest. Then I plan to try a new apple muffins recipe. I haven’t figured out why my bakes don’t rise much and are often a bit undercooked in the convection range that came with the house. I’ve read that it’s best not to use the convection feature for certain types of bakes, but even after leaving them longer in the oven, I don’t get a dome on my muffins, they’re flat. My baking powder is new, so that can’t be it. Hopefully I’ll figure it out.
After lunch, my brother and I will visit my father. He’s kept putting it off for a few weeks, but when I called him yesterday, he finally agreed to us coming over. I want to convince him to come and visit us at our house. I know he won’t drive here, even if it’s only 15 minutes away, because he only drives to familiar places now, but I’ll offer to pick him up and drive him back.
I will continue Flex R2 later this afternoon, but I’ll only do one of the optional long stretches workouts. After having leftovers for supper, it will be time for our Saturday movie night and it will be David’s turn to choose. My choice last week was a bust and we didn’t even finish the movie. It was a rom com and it was just too cheesy for my taste.
