Ongoing hip issues

I started having some pain in my inner thigh/hip area several months ago. It is most aggravated when I do a side lunge (in the inner part of the straight leg), kick to the side, or sit too long (I'll feel it at the top of my thigh). I've been icing and doing exercises that don't aggravate it like pilates, upper body, and core, but I haven't been able to do lower body workouts since July. I'm surprised because before this happened I'd been doing hip mobility workouts about 3x/week! Any advice or thoughts? I can't discern exactly what muscle/tendon/ligament is the issue.
