I’m curious about how much weight people use for pullovers/overhead pulls, especially in relation to other upper body moves.
I’ve noticed that pretty much all the trainers who include this move seem to ditch one dumbbell, which generally leaves them using what looks like quite a modest amount in relation to, say, a chest press.
I tend to stick with two dumbbells, of moderate weight - I typically use 2 x 10kg (22lb) weights for a pullover. This is about the same as I would do for a shoulder press, and a bit lighter than a chest press (typically 2 x 16 or 18kg (35/40lb).
By contrast, I see trainers going from maybe 2 x 25lb for a chest press to just 1 x for a pullover, which looks to me like a massive drop. I don’t think I’m especially strong in my lats, so I’m wondering how other people manage this.
Sorry for the long post!
Edited to add: I’m not so much interested in the absolute weight you lift, more the relative amounts.
