Friday PPals 8 August πŸ¦ΈπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸπŸͺ»πŸ«Ž

Hi folks

First things first. To the person who sent me the Pay It Forward gift and encouraging message: this gave me a little light on a rough day, and reminded me that the whole world is not against me. It made me tear up. Thank you, friend.

Second things second. An extra boost of thyroid medication this morning has also made a big difference. These pills always lose efficacy towards the end of the box, though officially they are good for 12 months. Officially, they also take 6 weeks to work, and I can definitely not tell a difference in fluctuation day to day and certainly not within 30 minutes of taking it. Also officially, antidepressants are very easy to come off, coeliacs can tolerate small amounts of gluten, and there is nothing wrong with my knee apart from my attitude. I have a doctor's appointment next week, and he always listens and gives good advice, but unfortunately he is not in charge of government guidelines and can't make specialists behave. Let's move on.

Spring is lurking behind the bushes, which have not leafed out yet. Here's a tree (not mine, it lives down the street) yesterday. Another cold spell though, near freezing every night this week. I know that is not "real" cold, but it sure feels real cold without insulation. Also down the street (different street) is a poinsettia tree, which I had not seen before. Sometimes I see banana trees around here too; never any bananas, but they still feel exotic.

Starting the thread in the morning my time also feels exotic, seeing as my morning is still last night for most of you. Australian checkins are usually in the evening or at night, cos timezones, but this makes sense to me cos I can tell you about how my day went. Talking about how you think your day will go in the morning seems a lot harder. Fortunately I made a to-do list, so I'll work on crossing things off. Among the items: clean out the cat box, wash the dishes, make curries, get some exercise. I have a light 30 minute cardio planned for that last one. After not moving for 3 weeks cos spidey and flu, things are extra creaky.

Speaking of. The other day I was cleaning out the dog bowl when guess who I saw swimming in the water. Yes, that's right, same species of spider who recently tried to kill me. I couldn't just let it drown, so without hesitating I scooped it out with my bare hand. Only afterwards did I think hey, perhaps that was not such a good idea. Maybe I am very empathetic to animals or maybe I am just plain stupid. Anyway, this particular specimen was a male. Not only are they much less dangerous than the ladies, but their girlfriends often eat them.

Anyway. Come tell me about how your day went, or how you think it will go, depending on what time it is where you are. Have you seen any interesting trees or fun spiders? Rants, raves, and goofy cat pics welcome.
