I'm a dental hygienist, and admittedly have poor posture- rounded shoulders, protruding shoulder blades, the whole deal. A few months ago I read in a hygiene magazine that hygienists shouldn't do chest flies/presses because they tightened up the chest muscles and would pull the shoulders forward even more, and should concentrate on strengthening the back. I've still been doing both but at a lighter weight than I probably could.
Am I doing the right thing? My gut says no, but I don't want to make a bad issue worse. Any advice??
