Perspiration Pals 9 July 2025

Hi there, Pals? I haven’t been too active in the community, apart from starting the thread on Wednesdays, but not because I don’t care. OK, I’ve told you this a hundred times, but it’s still true. It’s a day off work today for me, so needless to say, I’m quite busy. 😁However, I’m here to start the thread now.

It’s my final week of doing Flex R2, and I have to come up with something for next week because the week after that I’ll be on holiday, well, the usual staycation, and I’ve decided not to work out every weekday. I’ve never done this before, to be honest. I’ve always worked out every single workday during my holidays, but this year I want to relax a bit more. I’m planning to schedule three long routines for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and on the other days, I’ll just try to enjoy life a little, which apparently I’ve forgotten how to do.

In other news, the weather has been absolutely mental in the past two days, causing a lot of damage all over the country, but the temperature dropped significantly and I’m really, really happy about that!

Let’s move on to our fact-finder fragment. Have you ever wondered why the sea is salty? The salt in the ocean mostly got there as the result of a process called weathering, which transfers mineral salts from rocks on land into the sea. Rain is not pure water, but contains small amounts of carbon dioxide absorbed from the air, which makes rainwater very slightly acidic. When this weak acid falls on land, tiny traces of minerals are dissolved from rocks into the water, and these minerals separate into charged particles (ions). These ions travel along with the water into streams, rivers, and eventually into the ocean. Many of these mineral ions are removed from the sea water by marine plants and animals, but others remain in the water and their concentration builds up over millions of years. (source: Seriously Curious – The Economist Explains) If you already know that, you're smart, and sorry for the boring fact.

All right Pals, that’s it from me today, time to work out now. Have an easy day and eat some peaches. (random piece of advice)
