Hello, blenderz, and happy first day of oven month! It's not too hot yet but we have a heat wave coming for us next week. We missed last week's heat while we were in Germany where temps got as low as 20 degrees Celsius, aka heaven. Oh well, onwards we must go, this too shall pass, etc.
Came back to work to a deluge of AI tools being shoved down my throat and I am sick of it. We have a target to use these tools every day now. I'm in contact with another company and I need to give them my interview availability. They're not such a huge multinational so there shouldn't be such a big management push to get people using this crap. I'm genuinely so tempted to just quit but Adrian has already done so before we learned of this direction. His team has fallen apart and he has some ideas for monetizing one of his projects that he wants to try out and I don't feel comfortable with us both being unemployed in this economy (he has his own savings, I'm not paying his way, but still).

One thing we did on our trip that i didn't tell you about was stopping in Aachen to visit the cathedral build by Charlemagne. It's an impressive edifice, the pictures on wikipedia are better than what i could take:
We wanted to visit it because we were in Ravenna a few years ago and we read about Charlemagne stealing from Basilica di San Vitale to decorate his own cathedral
