HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group June 28th
Good last Saturday morning in June! Another month almost gone and it’s all a blur to me.
So I finally have a name for the pain that I’ve been dealing with on the outside of my ankle and top of my left foot: sinus tarsi syndrome. I was doing more research yesterday and finally identified exactly which section of my ankle/foot is hurting. I’m annoyed that a physiotherapist or a podiatrist couldn’t name the problem. I had a major setback yesterday and can confirm that my new shoes are the culprit. I thought that I had found slip-in shoes with good support, making sure they were not flat and that they were “stiff”, and I only wore them when taking Loki for short walks or when running errands, but my arch and ankle are clearly not supported enough and over time, my problem came back. So back to wearing my lace-up shoes running shoes all the time. At least I chose a good model, according to articles that I read about sinus tarsi syndrome.
I’ll see if I can manage a workout today. Last night, my foot and ankle were very sore and just walking in the house hurt. It seems to be better this morning, but I’ll see how I feel later in the day. I will definitely do PT exercises for my ankle though. I’ll have to be patient, healing fully will take some time, but I’ve done it before, so I know it’s feasible.
It will rain all day here, but we thankfully avoided the major rainstorm that they were predicting. David and I will just relax at home, cuddling under blankets on the couch, reading and watching series. And for movie night tonight, it will be David’s turn to choose what we watch. What are your plans for today and the weekend?
