So I went to my massage therapist yesterday. Basically she told me my lower back is really really tight (and I'm in pain), and told me all the scientific names for what is going on with my lower back. She asked what workouts I do and I told her primarily strength training. She told me I should start doing yoga and/or Pilates to incorporate more "gentle training" to help my back in a variety of ways but also to, you know, be a little gentler.
I can do this but I am struggling because my negative mindset is like that's not that good of a workout, you're not burning a lot of calories, etc. I mean, even in a workout I did two days ago, the trainer said something along the lines of "Burn those calories." And I cringed right away because I'm really trying to stay away from that mindset.
I know logically that yoga and Pilates are good workouts too, but I am really like ugh. Has anyone been through this or can give any helpful advice? Thanks!
Need to switch things up
