Perspiration Pals 14 May 2025

Hi there, Pals! How are you? Sorry about last time. I actually started writing this yesterday to give myself some time to find some fun facts for the fact-finder fragment. It’s a nice sunshiny day not too cold, not too hot, all you need is a light jacket. (five points if you get the reference)

I’m still doing Powerful with Tasha while hoping for a new strength training program. A Mass 2 (3) or something. I know I need to do cardio too but I don’t like jumping around at 5 a.m. (mostly because I have neighbours downstairs…) It’s not completely dark when I have to get up and it helps a little. Not much but enough.

Let’s move on to our fact-finder fragment then. Have you ever wondered why you get brain freeze when you eat ice cream? When you take a mouthful of ice cream, it makes the back of your throat colder. This is where you find both the internal carotid artery (which sends blood to the brain) and the anterior cerebral artery (which is where your brain tissue starts). The cold causes these two blood vessels to contract and dilate, and receptors call the meninges between the two arteries pick this movement up and sends signals to your brain. Your brain interprets these signals as pain, resulting in brain freeze otherwise known as sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia. Think of this when eating ice cream.

All right, Pals, that’s it from me today, have an easy day, and eat some ice cream to exercise your carotid and anterior cerebral artery.

PS, take a look at these lovely flowers.
