Insertional Tendonitis

Hi everyone! Looking for some others’ experiences with a similar situation. To be clear: I am seeing a doctor/physical therapist on this; just looking to get some ideas from laymen/laywomen.

I went to an orthopedic urgent care facility a few weeks ago and was diagnosed with insertional Achilles tendonitis. The doctor at the urgent care facility recommended physical therapy and I had my first appointment last week. I’m scheduled to see the physical therapist every week for the next month. He gave me 4 exercises to do each day that involve some balancing and stretching the heel a bit.

So with all of that in mind, I’m curious to hear from others who have had a similar condition. How long were you in physical therapy? Did the exercises help? How long until you had no pain? How long until you were able to go back to running or long walks?

TIA! :)
