Lighter weights for a week?

I am sure it's been asked before so I apologize for any redundancy. I have been lifting heavier recently (Tasha and Brian's latest challenges also) and now I thought it would be good to do Erica's fundamental challenge, but going back to lighter weights to focus on form and take a bit of a break from the heavier weights. Do you think this is advantageous? Tell me more, those of you that do something similar....do you feel it works for you?
