Your go-to modifications and substitutions

You can do push-ups off a bench or from your knees, and you can always take out the jumps or drop the weight…but what are some other substitutions or modifications you make to get the most out of your workout without injuring yourself?

I have a bone spur in my forefoot that makes lunges pretty painful, so I like to do stagger stance deadlifts instead.

I tend to neglect my core, so sometimes I do a standing core exercise like a suitcase march with a kettlebell instead of jump squats if my knees can’t handle jumping that day. Or I’ll hold a plank instead of doing a push-up.

What about everyone else? What are your workarounds?
