What core exercizes give pressure around the belly button?

Like the title says, I need to avoid/substitute those exercizes, because I have a umbilical/incisional hernia and I’m scheduled for surgery in about 2 months, but still want to keep exercising.

I guess I should probably avoid crunches, but can I substitute those for things like planks? I think those don’t put that much pressure on the belly button, or am I mistaken?

The surgeon said I could totally workout, but should avoid exercizes where I can push my intestines through the hernia. I guess it’s probably the same exercizes you should avoid when in your last term of pregnancy or the weeks after childbirth, but I wasn’t really up for exercising back then, so I haven’t paid that much attention. 😉
