Calories and macros

Hi everyone!

I've been working out with FB since 2015 on and off but have only recently started strength training seriously and I love it! I am looking to lose flab around belly, upper arms and legs and also get stronger. I don't care about losing weight per se, just want to lose flab and get leaner. I'm doing FB Strong and have been trying to count my calorie and macros intake to be more mindful of what I'm eating. I use My Fitness Pal to track this.

So, MFP tells me that I need to eat 1200 calories per day to lose 0.5kg per week but few other websites tell me I need to eat over 2000 calories. What is the best way to calculate how many calories I need to eat to see results?

In terms of macros as well, I've read different ratios. How do I find out the correct ratios for my body? I struggle to get enough protein since our Indian diet is a bit carb heavy.

FYI, I'm 5 ft and 119 lbs. I work from home so I'm at my desk most of the day. I try to get 5000 steps everyday.

Thanks in advance for any help!
