Advice for coming back after hernia surgery

Hi Blender family,

I'd like to crowdsource some advice from the group here.

I'm about 5 weeks post-surgery from a paraeosphageal hernia. It was a pretty significant surgery and I'm been on a liquid and soft foods diet since then. I've lost 20 pounds and I'm sure it's mostly muscle given my inactivity and fatigue. I have clearance to start advancing my diet and increasing my activity as tolerated.

Here are my goals, I'd llove to hear advice or experiences:

1. I want to maintain this weight loss, and continue with weight loss as appropriate to become healthier. (My BMI is in the obese range)

2. I want to regain my lost muscle strength. I'm starting with water walking and FB Beginner next week.

3. It's an opportune time to revamp my diet as I'm adding back in "regular" foods - I want to add the healthy options and leave off the less healthy options...with appropriate exceptions for my birthday next week : )
