New Workout! Total Body Cluster Sets for Muscle Development

Hey FB family! Today I’m sharing a total body workout that combines both strength and cardio — a fan favorite!

Cluster Sets for Muscle Development

Cluster sets involve taking one longer interval and breaking it up into smaller intervals so there are intermittent rests to break it up. This strategy allows us to maintain intensity and output the whole way through as opposed to doing one longer interval and having to drop and lighten the weight midway through. This is a common training technique used to develop strength and muscle definition.

The majority of our workout is focused on these cluster sets, going through 11 exercises and completing 3 intervals of 30 seconds active / 15 seconds rest for each before moving on. When we get to the cardio finisher, we complete a separate set of 11 exercises but they mirror/resemble the strength exercises in cardio form. This workout will leave the muscles of your entire body feeling thoroughly worked, both muscularly and cardiovascularly.

The difficulty of this workout (about a level 3 or 4) will be determined by the heaviness of the weights you choose as well as the amount of modifications you utilize. Be sure to read the full workout write-up for all the details and tips! I look forward to hearing how it goes :)
