Hi fellow Blenders,

I had a laparoscopic surgery 5 years ago, but my hernia has returned and now the surgery on the table is much more extensive. It will be a thoracic surgery (thoracotomy), with two other procedures to put my stomach back where it goes. It involves a several day hospital stay and several week recuperation at home.

I've talked to my GI doc about medical management and I'm not excited about that (lifelong PPI meds and ongoing symptoms).

Has anyone here had this type of procedure? I'd love to hear about your prep and recovery.
