Runner's, how do you choose workout days

For you runners, how do you choose your workout days? Do you find it better to workout lower body on days you run and upper body on non run days or the opposite? I'm thinking leg day would be in the morning of run day and run in the afternoon, then upper on non run days? My idea behind this is that if I run on say Monday then leg day Tuesday ... that would be too much "impact" too many days in a row?
