New Plus Video: Yoga Backbends for Better Breathing

Peace FB Family!

Have you been slouching in your chair and developed ‘goblin posture’?

In this practice our focus is to open the front of the body and allow the breath to help us do that by stretching the lungs from the inside out and toning the bock of the body.

Yoga Backbends for Better Breathing

Breathing is one of the most important things that we do every day. As a baby, when we take our first inhale, we develop a pattern of breath that will take on many rhythms and stay with us until we take our last exhale. Things like stress, poor posture, and anxiety can impact the way we breathe. Connecting with the breath and strengthening the muscles that allow you to control your breath pattern improves circulation, and encourages the proper alignment to support better breathing.

Before diving into this practice, take a deep breath and notice the details in the diaphragm.

  • Place one hand on your chest and one hand under your ribs.
  • INHALE slowly through your nose. Fill from the bottom of your lugs first. You should feel this pressure on your hand while the hand on your chest should not move.

Xoxo,
