New Guided Practice for Body Acceptance

If you read this article on Radical Acceptance and wanted something concrete to apply that notion to, then this is a great practice for you! We are taking this notion of unconditional acceptance and applying it to our bodies. Radical acceptance suggests that suffering comes not from pain, but from our attachment to and desires to detach ourselves from pain. In the case of our body image, it isn’t necessarily negative feelings about our body that causes disordered eating or related concerns, but rather our inability to detach ourselves from those feelings.

Guided Practice for Body Acceptance

In today's practice, we will engage in several thought experiments that are designed to help you work toward body acceptance. We will consider where our thoughts and feelings about our bodies stem from, attempt to take control over our own goals and narrative, and finally work on some body acceptance affirmations.

Give this one a try and share what you like or what you struggle with in accepting your body in the comments below!
