Potential slipped disk

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday :)

So I've been experiencing sciatica for the last 2-3 weeks (only mild pain but definitely irritating and uncomfortable) and the spinal surgeon I saw has a feeling it may be a slipped/herniated disk..

I'm having an MRI next week to confirm, but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this and how they dealt with keeping up a fitness regime? Apparently I'm safe to do low impact, Pilates, walking and using cardio machines at the gym, but I haven't had great advise for exercise as of yet 😂
