Post surgery exercise

Hi everyone!!

So I recently had minor day surgery (recently being 5 days ago) and I think I made the mistake of jumping back into working out too quickly after.

I read up about the recovery of the surgery I had online and it did say that you could resume normal exercise within 48 hours if you felt fine, which to be fair I did, however I think going straight back to my normal routine and intensity so soon after has had a negative effect rather than a good one.

I’ve felt fatigued and unwell since doing so, so I thought maybe I should just take a good few days from working out and just go on walks instead to try and allow myself to recover properly..

Has anyone else been through this or have any advise for how long I should potentially take a break from workouts?
