New Plus Video: Mini Workout for Calves and Balance

Good morning, FB!

We’ve seen quite a few requests for a calf-strengthening workout, so today’s release covers that and a little more:

Calf and Ankle Exercises: Improve Stability, Strength, and Balance

In today’s release, strength your calves, intrinsic foot muscles, and lower body proprioception - unilaterally, of course. Calf muscles can be one of those forgotten areas of the body, but their role in walking, jumping, and other athletic movements should not be underestimated.

We previously filmed a series dedicated to the foot and ankle, so be sure to check those workouts if your wheels are in need of some extra love. Due to the strength and coordination demands in today’s release, I would only attempt this workout with healthy feet and ankles.

Raise your hand if you’re like a baby deer without your shoes! *Slowly raises both hands* Shoes play such an important role - protection, stabilization, self-expression, and the list goes on. Challenge yourself to practice in socks or barefoot to work those small muscles within your feet as well as your calves. I wore (mismatching) athletic socks and definitely felt the effects the next day.

Really loving the concept of prehab-type workouts for you. What body part or ailment should we target next?
