New Article: How Too Much Positivity Can Backfire

Have you noticed how the extremes of any concept often backfire? When we experience something good, we tend to embrace it and take it to the extreme. When we experience something bad, we tend to avoid it at all costs. It is this tendency to take things to extremes (which is part of human nature) that contributes to so many issues in our lives. That is certainly true for today’s topic. We all know someone who is positive no matter what. Sometimes it's genuine, and those people are a breath of fresh air. However, in the times where it is forced, it can feel suffocating both for the person doing it and those around them.

In today's article, we will talk about how positivity is an incredibly useful tool for developing resiliency, and also how it can backfire when we take it too far. Excessive positivity contributes to a stifling of true emotions and difficulties with staying present in the moment. I’ll give a bit of background on the concept of excessive positivity as well as some helpful tips for preventing and managing it if you or someone you know has this tendency.
