Lunge alternatives!!

Hope you are having a good week.

So, lunges, of all types are not happening for me at the moment. I have knee issues and I had built up to being able to do reverse lunges and shallow laterals. But I have had to take a break and now these are out of reach, even BWO, for now.

My knees just do not 'like' them and my weaker side stands out by a mile which is making me really wary. Squats are fine though.

Does anyone have any suggestions for subs? I know/ think single leg deadlifts might be one and I do sometimes sub in some pilates movements. But my current focus is really on lifting.

Any tips would be appreciated! they crop up everywhere and I totally get why but I just want to avoid them!!
