Tofu help!!!

Ok this is a plea.. any vegans/ veggies or tofu masters out there?

(Full confession I am not veggie or vegan but I want to eat less meat and to whip up great tofu!)

What and I doing wrong with tofu!! when I eat it out I love it. I used to buy the pre flavoured type like smoked or with basil etc. Which is lovely but it has a lot of salt.

So I switched to just plain organic tofu. I have searched tons of recipes, tried freezing it first, tried marinating, tried oven baking.. all with some success texture wise but I just can not get a decent flavour.

Is it my taste buds? or does anyone have any suggestions? all welcome! (By the way I am using firm or medium firm and pressing it first)

It doesn't taste bad it just doesn't really taste of anything
