I need a new workout mat!

So I haven't really worked out too much this past year and never bothered getting a new workout mat when I moved from Sweden to the US. But at least in the old apartment we had carpeted floors, so it still worked the times when I did workout. Now we recently moved, though, and have hardwood floors which means that I need a new workout mat... and some motivation to start getting in regular workouts again!

But on to the workout mat... What thickness would be recommended when you use it on hardwood floors and don't want your knees to hurt? :)
