Today’s workout release is all about showing your lower body some love: Lower Body Restore: 15 Minute Deep Stretch for Legs, Glutes, and Hips
It’s not often we think about it, but our lower body takes us absolutely everywhere. It’s constantly doing the work to get us from A to B, sit, stand, and perform functionally in daily life. While our typical cool-downs always target the major muscle groups, it’s not often we have time to dig into the smaller muscle groups of the legs and hold stretches for longer periods of time.
In this routine, we work through a series of 15 stretches targeting everything from your waist down. We’ll spend 50 seconds active in each stretch and then have 10 seconds to transition to the next one. This felt like the perfect amount of time to sink into a stretch, tweak it to where it feels best for your body, and hold.
Slowing down like this isn’t my strong suit, so I kept it short (ish) at about 15 minutes. That way, we have the extended stretch time, but can still fit in some other type of activity!
This routine could be used in a variety of ways: stand-alone stretch, extended cool-down, or mid-day movement break! Wherever you fit it in, this is sure to bring a little “pep back in your step.”
