Slippery floors.. Sub exercises are working out. Lol

There are hardwood floors in the house I live in. I use a Pilates mat to exercise on and I found out rather quickly that it is unsafe to do lateral or broad jumps on the mat.. The mat slides on the floor with me on it.. Since I don't want to crash into furniture, I decided to substitute squatted side steps for lateral jumps and squat pulses for broad jumps. I must say that I can keep myself ultra low in the squats for each and it has improved my squat jumps, or any squat variations tremendously!
