Combining running and lower body workouts

Hi all,

I want to tone my lower body specifically but also would like to improve my running skills. It is hard to decide what to do in the rest days of FBBooty since I don't want to neglect my core and upper body too :)

When I am running, it is only 3-5K, but still, I hesitate when my lower body is sore from the previous day's workout.

Do you have any suggestions for combining lower body exercises and running? How do you schedule your weeks without neglecting running, core, and upper body?
