Unexpected FB program results

While others in our family have worked out regularly and consistently with FB since we first started following them on Youtube a decade ago, some of us weren't into "working out" indoors regularly, prefering outdoor sports and activities instead.

So, after having only completed a few FB programs previously with sporadic attempts before each completion, following an injury at the start of 2021, FB programs became an effective at-home way to rebuild fitness and strength.

So far this year, there have been 443 workouts complete, 10 Challenges complete, and 4 Programs complete.

Program/Challenges Results (measurements not always taken immediately before/after a program):

1) Low Impact, R2 (2 Feb - 20 Mar 2021): +0,35 kg (0,75 lbs) lean muscle (LM), -0,4 kg (1 lb) bodyfat (BF)

2) Blend (22 Mar - 23 Apr 2021): +1.71 kg (3.77 lbs) LM, -0,9 kg (2 lbs) BF

3) Complete (26 Apr - 28 May 2021): +0,01 kg (0,02 lbs) LM, -0,3 kg (0,66 lbs) BF

4) Fit R3 (31 May - 26 Jun 2021): +0,01 kg (0,02 lbs) LM, -0,2 kg (0,44 lbs) BF

5) Abs Challenge (5-17 Jul 2021): NC, core muscles more visible

6) Booty/Flex Challenges (26 Jul - 12 Aug 2021) + Freestyling: -0,32 kg (0,7 lbs) LM, +0,0045 kg (0,01 lbs) BF

7) Fundamentals Challenge (18-31 Aug 2021) + 1st week of Bored Easily Challenge (30 Aug - 4 Sep, 2021): -1.3 kg (3 lbs) LM, -0,88 kg (1,95 lbs) BF

8) Week 2 of Bored Easily Challenge (6-11 Sep 2021) + Week 1 of You vs You/Reach Challenges (13-21 Sep 2021) + change in diet (no sugar, starch, or processed foods): +0,38 kg (0,83 lbs) LM, -1,02 kg (2,23 lbs) BF

9) Week 2 of You vs You/Reach Challenges (21-26 Sep 2021): -0,154 kg (0,34 lbs) LM, -0,57 kg (1.26 lbs) BF

10) Short & Sweet/Stretch Challenges (20 Sep - 9 Oct 2021): -0,068 kg (0,15 lbs) LM, -0,52 kg (1,15 lbs) BF

11) Freestyling (11-16 Oct 2021) + 2 Weeks of FB 30 R4 (25 Oct - 2 Nov 2021): +1,23 kg (2,7 lbs) LM, -0,32 kg (0,7 lbs) BF

It was very suprising to see the biggest difference in LM gained was with Blend, FB 30 R4, and Low Impact R2 Programs, and the biggest BF loss was with You vs. You, Bored Easily, Fundamentals, and Short & Sweet Challenges, and Blend Program. Other than the diet change at the end of August, nothing else changed other than environmental factors.

In the end, it's important to learn to be consistent to show up and move your body in healthy ways and to learn to choose good nutrition to fuel your body and mind for good health.

In choosing which programs, challenges, or workouts to do, it's important to not only initially find a style you enjoy that helps you look forward to working out regularly and stick with it, but to also not be afraid to challenge yourself to try programs and workouts you wouldn't normally try in order to expand your comfort zone and challenge your body and mind in new ways. The worst that happens is that you learn more about yourself and your body and gain new wisdom and appreciation. ;)

And who knows, you may find that you enjoy something you once didn't think you'd ever enjoy, or be able to accomplish something you never thought you'd be able to accomplish. :)
