Daily Check-In: Saturday, September 25th 👻

Hi Blendfriends,

It's weekend again, and that means a guest host for the daily check-in. Not one, but two, this weekend, as I'm sharing the fun with Jacqueline. How are you, today, and what will this weekend bring you? Day something of a program, or a routine that you built yourself (or has someone else's signature on it, like the great routine I'm following at the moment), just a random workout or nothing at all? I'll start the fourth week of Fit with Daniel, a routine my ghost buddy has designed. Day 22 will be:

I'm planning to work out as soon as I return from a bit of walking and birdwatching, if my body still allows it at the end of the day. It's almost light over here - the best time to spot birds - so I'm about to leave home to do that. It's the last week of September, which means that birds are migrating to warmer areas. A great season to spot birds and try to take pictures of them. My favorite season will always be spring, though, because that has everything: birds returning from their winter break, butterflies appearing, fresh leaves and blossoms on the trees. Do you have a favorite season? And if so, why?

I know many of you have been looking forward to the end of summer, because of the food. Stews, pumpkin or apple pies and other treats that taste better when the leaves are changing colors. As no daily check-in ends without asking about the food that will be on your plates, I invite you all to share what you'll be eating today. It will be much better than the PB sandwiches I just prepared to take with me on my birdwatching trip.

As always, I'm ending my ghost check-in by sharing a photo and tell you a bit about it. This picture is from yesterday's walk at the beach. Shortly after I arrived, I spotted a common or thin-billed murre (also called guillemot) sitting close to the surf. It was alive, but it didn't fly away when I approached. A murre is always staying at sea, except during breeding season. It forgages and rests there, so there had to be something wrong with the bird sitting in the sand, yesterday, like illness, fatigue or oil on its feathers. Someone already called the animal ambulance in my town. I stayed with the bird until help arrived, to prevent the murre being killed by a dog, and took a few pictures while I waited.

That's it again, Blenders. Tomorrow,Jacqueline will be your guest host. I wish you all a great day and thank you for checking in today!
