Pull Ups

A goal of mine I have never been able to achieve is an unassisted pull up.

I've had to take a break from higher intensity workouts and most strength training due to injuries (shoulder, wrist, ankle and back) for the past two years. I was still working out 4-5 days a week, but I still lost alot of my upper body strength. I was finally cleared to start strength training again a month ago. I attempted to do a pull up, but couldnt do it. I could hang for 30 seconds. I want to work towards this goal, but dont know where to start. Does anyone have any workout video recommendations or tips?
