Elbow tendonitis

How do I modify my workouts for elbow tendonitis? I see lots of things not to do, which seem to be everything included in a traditional strength workout, whether using dumbells or body weight. I have heard it could take 6 months to a year to heal. I cant stop working out that long! I have been wearing a brace but it gets pretty painful at times. If I am lifting and it really starts hurting I will lower my weight. I always take for granted how perfectly the different parts of our body depend on each other until I'm in pain😁. I don't know if you can get tendonitis under your big toe from doing lunges, but I think I've injured myself there too😅. Any advice is appreciated😊
