2 Week Abs Challenge - Final day - complete!

Today's HIIT+core workout with Daniel was the only not-so-fun one of this 2 Week Abs Challenge - hard to say whether it was the heat or the double HIIT (likely both), but there wasn't quite enough energy for the core exercises compared to usual and the easier version needed to be done for several of them. A few of the knee-unfriendly HIIT exercises (star jump, ski to sumo squat, jumping lunges) needed to be swapped out for good HR-raising equivalents, but most were doable as is.

It would have been better to have planned ahead yesterday to do the HIIT all at the end instead of in the beginning and middle in order to have had more energy and strength for those much-needed core exercises, but the brain wasn't working quickly enough in the morning to comprehend that until too late, lol! ;)

Note to night owls - it's always better to plan and write notes the evening before for tomorrow's activities, rather than rely on the early morning brain remembering to change things up on the fly, haha! ;)

The short LB+core EC with Kelli was a favorite, and those dastardly good froggers are finally looking a little better, although still not anywhere near Kelli's! ;)

Overall, this has been a surprisingly fun program, especially not usually enjoying core workouts at all, and was just the right level of challenging and doable at the same time.

Next week the plan is to join FB Plus (thanks for the surprise Summer Sale discount - yay! :) ) and either do some freestyling or other 2 week challenges before scheduling a 4-week program again, possibly FB Strong, since it hasn't been done in about 2 years, or repeating a more recently completed program like FB Complete or FB Blend. While it's tempting to re-attempt FB 30 R4 (almost completed several times the past few years, but interrupted by life in Week 4 each time) or FB Bodyweight (sitting untouched so far), the overabundance of long, frequent HIIT is too much - 1-2xs/week shorter lengths is good, but more than that tends to be counterproductive at this stage in life. Perhaps combining them with other non-HIIT intensive programs like Booty or Flex could make them more doable?

The whole point of healthy fitness is not to push until the body drops, but to do what's the very best for the body at that particular moment - challenging one's self just enough to stimulate growth and good health, but not so much as to be detrimental or counterproductive. Finding that sweet spot by learning to really know and pay close attention to what one's body is saying is the key to a happy, healthy body, mind, and life!

FB is such a healthy place for this - the constant encouragement to listen to your body and helping everyone to learn and understand what's truly healthy and sustainable for each one's body - it's so amazing! :)

Hope your week is finishing well, and happy Blending everyone! :)
