2 Week Abs Challenge - Day 4 - complete!

Today's LB strength/Pilates/HIIT workout with Kelli is a long-standing favorite, despite not usually enjoying HIIT mixed in with strength training.

These particular HIIT exercises were a little more knee friendly than the usual ones in many FB HIIT routines, with the exception of regular squat jumps, which had to be modified to ski squat jumps with a smaller ROM for the knee. The HIIT portion was far more pleasant than expected and over so quickly it almost created a desire for slightly more HIIT - what?! Haha!!! ;) :D

The Pilates, then HIIT, then bored-easily strength training format was pleasantly different, and a really fun way to train instead of the usual way of starting with HIIT, then strength training (already shattered from HIIT), and saving the Pilates for a burnout round at the end.

It would be really great to see more workouts with the HIIT portion in the middle or at the end and the Pilates portion at the beginning, in order to get all the muscles activated properly before the strength training portion and also to be able to have maximum energy and strength going into the strength training portion instead of spending it on HIIT first.

Overall, today was an enormously fun, sweat-inducing favorite workout that worked the lower body very well w/o aggravating any injuries.

Tomorrow's scheduled workout is cardio kickboxing with Daniel, but it must be swapped out for a different cardio+core workout since kickboxing re-injured things during Fit R3 two weeks ago and that's not a risk worth taking. So far, there are several interesting workout options added to the calendar for swapping in, depending on how things feel tomorrow. Since today was already HIIT, and the abs are woefully weak, it might be best to go with the one that has the longest pure abs work (a necessary torture, haha) and add a short cardio workout to the end.

This torturous core workout with Daniel seems to have the most pure abs work and each interval is repeated (aaaaaa)! - https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/30-minute-core-strength-fitness-blender-advanced-core-workout

Any other suggestions for a good, challenging core workout w/o HIIT or kick-boxing?

Hope your day is going well, and happy Blending everyone! :)
