FB Fit R3 - Day 13 Complete!

Took some time after lunch for walking and grounding/earthing, then enjoyed the difficult scheduled stretching routines with Daniel.

FB Fit R3 is challenging with longer, more frequent HIIT integrated into the workouts. The strength training part is fun and effective - the muscles are sore in a good way this week and push-ups and tricep dips are getting a little easier. However, the overall amount and length of HIIT seems to be a little too much for the body currently. The days of it bouncing back from HIIT in a day or two are perhaps gone? The problem is that HIIT feels totally fine during it, but then the body tanks several hours afterward and it takes several days or even more to recover.

That brings into question the scheduled 1000 calorie workout at the end of the program, which was very recently done in Week 4 of another program. That workout had felt completely doable during, even doing all of the HIIT as HIIT, not MIIT/LIIT. But, a few hours after finishing, everything felt awful and continued to feel rather strange for almost a week afterward. So, the 1000 calorie workout in Fit R3 might need to be swapped for something with a shorter HIIT portion.

With that in mind, Week 3 of FB Fit R3 might also require easing up - doing MIIT/LIIT instead of HIIT and focusing mostly on the strength training, in order to not cause too much stress, raise cortisol levels, or deplete energy reserves. Another option is to take a deload half-week or week instead and then get back into FB Fit R3 with a higher energy/strength baseline. Either way can work. It looks like Week 3 is much less intense in the HIIT/cardio and more focused on strength anyway. So, it could be possible to do it as is without stressing the body too much.

Thus, Monday will be a question of whether "to Fit or not to Fit" Week 3 ;) - to either do it as scheduled or push it back a few days in order to do a short deload and better recuperate from HIIT.

In learning to listen to the body, if it doesn't give appropriate feedback quickly enough in real time, that can especially mean remembering how it recently reacted to a similar stimulus both during and afterward, in order to prevent pushing oneself too hard when things seem okay in the moment. :)
