FB Fit R3 - Day 3 Completeish!

Slowly learning to listen to the body - which takes a lot practice after years of blindly pushing through no matter what.

After Day 1's EC HIIT mania, not recovered enough for the loads of crazy HIIT in the main workout. Didn't want to reschedule the program altogether, so went with alternate and had to go a bit easier in the non-strength portions. Bummed to need to skip the fun EC abs burnout, but it's marked for a future independent workout instead.

In hindsight, it might have been better to have swapped today's workout with Day 5's in order to do both workouts without any mods. Next time... ;)

On that note, one thing that feels a bit different so far about FB Fit R3 compared to some of the other FB programs is that the non-EC HIIT, which tends to be a little longer and more intense than some other programs, seems to be a little more heavily clustered in the first few days of the week rather than spread out more to allow additional recovery time to offset the added intensity/length.

It would be neat to have a program where the most intense/longer non-EC HIIT was on Days 1/5 with regular cardio and an EC HIIT on Day 3, instead of main workout HIIT on Days 1/3 and an EC HIIT on Day 5. Day 3 is often a core workout, hence why it's usually paired with incorporated HIIT for added effectiveness, but the core workouts could be paired with regular cardio or cardio-kickboxing with an EC HIIT for those who feel like it, and it would still be quite effective.

This is an instance where having the ability to swap whole workout days of a schedule program on the calendar would be really handy - so instead of doing Core+HIIT today on Day 3, it could be moved to Day 5 and that day's LB non-HIIT workout could be moved to today instead. That way both workouts could be done while allowing for additional recovery time as needed without working the same muscle groups back-to-back. While this can currently be done by scheduling them as independent workouts within the program, it would be really cool to be able to move whole days of a program around on the calendar without doing it as independent workouts or having to reschedule the program for a later day.

That said, looking forward to tomorrow's non-HIIT, non-cardio UB semi-traditional strength training workout with Daniel. :)

Happy Blending everyone!
