Tips for Improving Ankle Stability

Does anyone have tips on how to improve ankle stability, specifically for running? Without stabilizing shoes and insoles, when I run my ankles wobble like a San Fran skyscraper in an earthquake.

I strength train my lower body regularly (1+ times a week) and I also have a standing desk, so I'm on my feet for at least half the work day. Is there anything else/specific I could be doing to improve ankle strength and stability?
