HIIT or hate? Asking for a friend..

HIIT used to be one of my favorite exercises-- I felt like I was working hard, got super sweaty and felt really accomplished afterward. But recently, HIIT is getting to the point where it's almost too much for me- I get SO unbelievably sore that I can't do much for 3-4 days afterward and I'm absolutely miserable.

Now, if I have a HIIT scheduled, I will only do intermediate or low impact versions of those routines and it helps me SO much with soreness and being able to do my best on the next day's workout.

I'm curious to know what everyone's relationship with HIIT is- is anyone able to finish a HIIT workout doing the hardest version without stopping? Sometimes, seeing Kelli and Daniel doing the hardest version of their workouts without stopping feels crazy/unachievable. I've been working out with FB for over 6 years and I've never been able to get through the advanced versions of some of their workouts without modifying at least some intervals. How about you guys?
