“Food for Thought” April 28th

Hello beautiful Blenders,

How are we all doing? I hope food treats you well today.

I was thinking about food waste and how you deal with leftovers or so?

A while ago we had a street party/gathering with all neighbours from our estate and everyone brought some food. One of my neighbours made a nice salad but at the end of the evening there was a lot left. And before I could say “stop” my neighbour said “what a pity” and just through it all away. I never understood why she did that. I would have never ever considered such an action. If something is left over, I will keep it and eat it at another time. Normally we have leftover days, where all the leftovers from the week are eaten.

How do you handle leftovers? And how do you handle your shopping. Do you plan exactly what you need, to avoid food waste or are you one of the creative once, who buy what they see and make something out of it later without a real plan but be able to use it all?
